Belarusian

Translate Belarusian, signal or no signal.

Typed Belarusian translation runs on your iPhone with nothing connected. The camera needs a signal: an iPhone cannot read the Belarusian script offline, so a scan taken without one is kept and translated when you are back online.

Typing works with no signal

Download the Belarusian pack once, over hotel wifi, and typed translation runs on the phone from then on — as it does in all 58 languages.

The camera needs a connection

An iPhone cannot read the Belarusian script offline at all. With a signal the photograph is read and translated; without one the scan is kept and translated the moment you are back online, so the sign is not lost.

Speech depends on your iPhone

Spoken translation uses Apple's own speech packs, which cover about half of these languages and differ from phone to phone — so the app tells you if it cannot hear Belarusian rather than failing while someone waits. How speech works.

Two real ones, printed and photographed

Both went through the app on an iPhone from pages we had printed, so the Belarusian is known rather than guessed. What came back is below it, unedited.

A restaurant menu

Printed on it

  1. Меню дня
  2. Гароднінны суп з хлебам
  3. Курыца грыль з бульбай
  4. Свежая рыба дня
  5. Шакаладны торт
  6. Кава і гарбата ўключаны

What the app gave back

  1. Day menu
  2. Vegetable soup with bread
  3. Chicken grill with potatoes
  4. Fresh fish of the day
  5. Chocolate cake
  6. Coffee and tea included

Read and translated on an iPhone, 1 September 2026, from a page we had printed — so the original is known rather than guessed. Nothing here is tidied up.

All six lines came through. "Курыца грыль з бульбай" became "Chicken grill with potatoes", word order a little off, and the heading is "Day menu", but every dish is clear.

A pharmacy label

Printed on it

What the app gave back

  1. Take one tablet twice on
  2. day
  3. Swallow with water after eating
  4. Do not use alcohol while treating
  5. Store in a cool dry place
  6. Refer to the doctor if the pain is not
  7. take place

Read and translated on an iPhone, 1 September 2026, from a page we had printed — so the original is known rather than guessed. Nothing here is tidied up.

The label was read with two lines broken in half, and the translation kept the breaks: the dose came back as "Take one tablet twice on" with "day" on the next line, and the last line ends "if the pain is not" then "take place". The alcohol and storage lines were right.

Questions

Does Belarusian camera translation work offline?

No, and no iPhone app can make it. The phone’s own text recognition cannot read the Belarusian script offline. SofiLingo keeps the photograph and translates it the moment you are back online, and typed Belarusian works offline in the meantime.

Does typed Belarusian translation work offline?

Yes. Download the Belarusian pack once, over wifi, and typing runs entirely on the phone from then on. That is true of all 58 languages.

How good is the Belarusian translation?

Good enough for menus, signs and tickets, and not for anything that matters legally or medically. The two examples on this page are unedited, mistakes included, so you can judge it yourself before you pay anything.

Can SofiLingo hear spoken Belarusian?

It depends on your iPhone. Spoken translation uses Apple’s own speech packs, which cover about half of the 58 languages and differ from phone to phone, so the app tells you before you start if it cannot hear Belarusian.

Take it with you
